GPU and Fast Storage Infrastructure for Massively Parallel Scientific Computing and Reduced Order Modeling

Abstract

The objective of this DURIP proposal is to acquire graphics processing unit (GPU) computing and fast storage infrastructure to support research projects involving massive parallelism in scientific computing and reduced order modeling at the University of Kansas (KU). The research projects to be performed on the infrastructure are in support of the mission of the Department of Defense (DOD) and align most closely with the missions of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). KU has experienced steady growth in research involving high- performance computing (HPC), reduced-order modeling, and machine learning that rely on GPU and fast storage infrastructure.
