Constructal Theory for Aeroelastic Design of Aircraft

Abstract

At a fundamental level, this research contributes to the design of multi-physics multi-scale structures for future aircraft and fills the gap in knowledge by integrating theoretical and computational, and experimental approaches with the physics of design based on energy flow configuration. The intellectual emphasis on design proceeds from the constructal law, which provides insight into evolutionary design and how to scaleup (and add complexity to) the design. The results lead to a more stable, sustainable, and cost-effective aircraft.
