Measuring Human Factors in SDA Games and Conflict Simulation

Abstract

Conflict resolutions for space simulations are an ongoing area of research, as existing operations centers must pull from air, land, and-or sea experience. As beyond geosynchronous (xGEO) space is considered a disparate domain from traditional operational environments, this research is anticipated to improve decision-making quality and timeliness in tactical, operational, and strategic space conflict scenarios. In general, this proposal is expected to support a wide range of research activities in the VADeR Lab through the development of its novel space operations center. The critical need for an open access human factors lab for SDA mission operations is addressed by the following request for capital equipment. The authors emphasize that this DURIP proposal focuses only on the purchase of hardware or professional installation-fabrication costs, as facilities management at the University already provides the VADeR Lab with physical lab space for SDA research.
