Topos Workshop on Polynomial Functors

Abstract

Topos Institute aims to create socially-aware solutions to real world problems through novel mathematical frameworks and computational tools that cut across disciplinary boundaries and facilitate high-fidelity communication. We coalesce a community of experts, and share their research with the world. In the first week, we will give lectures on fundamental concepts in the theory of polynomial functors and give many examples of their applications, such as in databases and in dynamical systems. The lectures will be recorded and shared online for public access. In the second week, the workshop participants will work together to produce public-facing research, possibly to include- augmenting the PolyTT proof assistant, creating agent-based modeling tools, physics engines, and more.
