Cumulant Generating Function Classifier for Radar

Abstract

The RF environment in which radar operates is increasingly congested, posing challenges for accurate detection, discrimination, estimation, and tracking of targets of interest. While advancements in high-fidelity electronic components and high-performance computing have been made, the rise in clutter, interference, and jamming complicates the radar community s goals. Thus, the US Air Force has a strategic interest in developing more accurate and efficient algorithms to detect, discriminate, and classify clutter and weak targets of interest. Our approach is a Cumulant Generating Function Classifier (CGFC),
