Space Systems Resilient to Cyber Attacks

Abstract

Space and satellite systems provide crucial communication, tracking, and surveillance capabilities for defense - thus, providing a crucial strategic advantage. However, given their importance, they are also targets for many attacks. These attacks can significantly disrupt space systems services and hinder mission-critical military operations. This proposal aims to provide a framework to strengthen the security of the space infrastructure. In particular, this project will develop new cryptographic methods that build resilience — prevent, mitigate, and recover from attacks — in our distributed space infrastructure.
