Assessment of Battery Degradation Pathways with Multiscale Multimodal Imaging and Impedance Techniques

Abstract

The proposed research will apply novel experimental and modeling methods across scales to understand the complex, multiscale interactions between microstructure and the electrochemical, mechanical, and thermal behaviors that drive degradation in silicon-based lithium-ion batteries.
