Uncertainty quantification in ultra-high temperature materials manufacturing workshop (UQ UHTM Manufacturing workshop)

Abstract

The goal of the uncertainty quantification in ultra-high temperature materials manufacturing (UQ UHTM) workshop and symposia session will be to bring together experimentalists, modelers and mathematicians to discuss state-of-the-art techniques on uncertainty quantification on the manufacturing of high temperature materials. The workshop will focus on targeting advanced undergraduates and graduate students, to make them aware of the advanced statistical techniques that can be incorporated into uncertainty quantification for manufacturing. This workshop will be paired with the American Ceramic Societies (ACerS) President Council of Student Advisors (PCSA) to ensure high student attendance (~40 ceramic students from around the world). The symposia session will target postgraduate, young faculty, industry and national laboratory scientists and academia, bringing together experts in manufacturing and uncertainty quantification to discuss core challenges. Together, the workshop and the symposia will provide an environment not only for vibrant discussions, but also introduce young investigators to other experts in the field.
