Small Arms Fire Control
Abstract
The XM157 Next Generation Squad Weapon - Fire Control (NGSW-FC) is an advanced fire control device to support the Next Generation Squad Weapons. NGSW-FC increases the probability of hit and decreases the time to engage through a variable powered direct view optic with integrated range finder, ballistic calculator, and digital display capable of providing an adjusted aim point. The XM157 NGSW-FC will utilize open architecture to deliver the initial increased core capability followed by increasing increments of capability/enhancements over time as technology matures and evolves. The total cost of the the Next Generation Squad Weapons Rapid Prototyping Middle Tier of Acquisition effort is $156.83 million RDT&E from FY19 to FY23. The remainder of the Next Generation Squad Weapons Rapid Prototyping is fully funded across the Future Years Defense Program.
