Weapons & Munitions Technologies
Abstract
This project designs and develops component technologies to enable affordable smart munitions that can be launched from multiple platforms as well as provide increased lethality and performance with reduced logistics and advanced direct/indirect fire capabilities. Work in project H18 is related to, and fully coordinated with, efforts in projects H19 and H28 (also in PE 0602624A), PE 0602618A (Ballistics Technology), and projects 232 and L94 in PE 0603004A (Weapons and Munitions Advanced Technology). The cited work is consistent with the Director, Defense Research and Engineering Strategic Plan, the Army Modernization Strategy, and the Army Science and Technology Master Plan. The work in this project is performed by the Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, and the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
