Cambodia Lab

Abstract

Cambodia is seeking to improve and strengthen surveillance and response systems to mitigate the risks posed by emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) and unusual health events. This proposal aims to support human health sector capacity development in Cambodia in order to better service routine and emergency events. Cambodia has requested the second extension of International Health Regulation (IHR) implementation in order to achieve all the core capacities via Cambodia National Plan for Emerging Diseases and Public Health Emergency to achieve IHR core capacities (2016-2020). Applied Epidemiology Training (AET) and laboratory strengthening are key activities in the plan.
