FAO Sustainable Operationalization of One Health in the Africa Region

Abstract

Support the integration of the One Health approach in medicine, public health, and agriculture to mitigate the burden of emerging infectious zoonotic diseases in the Africa region. In addition to strengthening regional One Health coordination and operationalization, One Health will be strengthened at the national level in the following beneficiary countries: Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Senegal, and Tanzania. More specifically, this effort will improve the collaboration between human and animal health systems nationally and regionally; put in place coordinated mechanisms for the evaluation of One Health operationalization; and establish a regional governance structure of the FAO/OIE/WHO tripartite.
