Post Eradication Rinderpest Security and Biological Threat Reduction
Abstract
The overarching objectives of this grant, implemented by the OIE, are to continue to strengthen rinderpest post-eradication security by facilitating and encouraging countries to either sequence and destroy rinderpest stocks or to send them to an FAO-OIE designated RHF; perform monitoring and evaluation of the network of RHFs jointly with FAO; ensure safeguarding of the current state of global freedom from rinderpest through the implementation of standards, awareness raising and oversight of key mandates; and ensure that new generations of veterinary practitioners, veterinary students, veterinary paraprofessionals, laboratory technicians and policy makers know about rinderpest.
