Elimination of Chemical Threats via Reactive Metal-Organic Frameworks

Abstract

This project seeks to leverage materials synthesis, post-synthesis modification, characterization, and testing the stability and reactivity of functionalized MOFs. The effect of functional groups on organic ligand and metal nodes as well as pore sizes of the functionalized MOFs on the reactivity will be systematically studied. This knowledge will guide us to design highly efficient materials that can be utilized for chemical and biological protection and decontamination.
