Seeding Success Project
Abstract
The Seeding Success Project provides students with new opportunities for learning important social and emotional skills needed for success in school and in life. It provides teachers and principals with specific strategies to support students as they develop the skills necessary to meet the challenging demands of a changing world. The Seeding Success Project proposes to provide a framework of support for military-connected students to develop needed social and emotional skills as they progress in school. our students are faced with handling challenging emotional experiences due to frequent moves, deployments of one or both parents and high stress levels at home. This project aims to support our students in learning to become resilient in these challenging situations and experience greater success in the classroom. This initiative proposes to engage in the leadership, teachers, and parents in five year plan to deepen knowledge of best practices for developing students social/emotional skills. The focus is on creating systems of support that improve results for all military-connected students. The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program and Project Appleseed Parental Involvement In Public Schools program will be implemented in ten district schools including two on Holloman AFB.
