Project SOAR (Supporting Opportunities for Achievement and Resilience)
Abstract
Project SOAR (Supporting Opportunities for Achievement and Resilience) is intended to increase academic achievement in STEAM content an decrease social-emotional risk factors. This project will utilized the strategies of problem-based leaning and STEAM days to increase the academic outcomes in Science and Math and interest in STEAM activities and future careers. Academic opportunities will be coordinated by a district STEAM Facilitator. Strategies to develop additional social-emotional supports for military connected students will include a school-wide resilience plan and the implementation of a Skills Development Specialist position. Assessments will be created to align with Louisiana State Standards and STEAM modules.
