The Safe and Sound project

Abstract

The Safe and Sound project will create an integrated system of social and emotional health services for military connected students across all schools. This project will establish a three-tiered intervention system for students to be referred or self-identified for additional supports in response to individual social-emotional needs. The expected outcomes are to (1) decrease the ratio of students to mental health support personnel; (2) decrease externalizing and internalizing behaviors as measured by student data (e.g. attendance, referrals to nurse, misconduct issues, results of student screener or self-identifying); and (3) increase system knowledge in identify and supporting students in emotional distress.
