The DoDEA project
Abstract
Yelm Community Schools recognizes the need to support students transitioning from elementary schools to secondary schools, and as they transition between courses within secondary schools. Military-connected students are particularly vulnerable to the challenges represented by transitioning between systems. The DoDEA project integrates the practice standards of science and mathematics to create a continuous experience for students as they transition into and through the secondary system. Further the project bridges the work of teachers in elementary and secondary mathematics and science to support a consistent system of mathematics instruction based on deep conceptual understanding, application of practice standards, and technology integration.
