SALUTE
Abstract
Hillsborough County Public Schools is committed to preparing all students for life and recognizes that military-dependent students face unique challenges early in their educational careers related to mobility, family separation, and transition. The ultimate goal of SALUTE is to increase the level of social-emotional wellbeing of military-dependent students in Tinker K-8. Peer supports and parent/community engagement strategies will complement a structured, whole-school behavior management plan designed to support military-dependent children and their families. Professional development for faculty and staff will provide the framework for developing and sustaining the social-emotional supports necessary to strengthen the health of students and their families.
