Connecting Social and Emotional Support to College Readiness

Abstract

Connecting Social and Emotional Support to College Readiness will address the unique needs of military dependent students as they prepare for their post-secondary goals. The counseling and the professional development programs are designed to help students build resilience and learn strategies to overcome the transitional challenges of high mobility. The professional development included is directly aligned to the staff needs assessment. A full time Project Director will facilitate a College and Career Readiness steering committee to ensure the social and emotional needs of studies are addressed. A full time Counselor will provide embedded staff PD and direct student support.
