Making Sense of Mathematics and Teaching in Mascoutah
Abstract
Making Sense of Mathematics and Teaching in Mascoutah aims to improve student achievement in mathematics at the elementary and middle school levels, increase the number of students taking algebra in 8th grade, and support parents in improving their students mathematics learning. Nearly 60% of the students in Mascoutah Community School District are military dependent, and 99% of students at Scott Elementary, adjacent to Scott Air Force Base, are military dependent. This project will support military dependent students through professional development, in-class coaching, tutoring, and online resources to improve their mathematics achievement.
