Smooth Sailing project
Abstract
The Smooth Sailing project provides continuous social-emotional support across all grade levels in the feeder pattern. A positive school-wide culture change will be effected through research based professional development and positive behavior programs, allowing a seamless transition into supportive environments from level to level. School based youth suicide prevention programs will be instituted at middle and high. Increasing the number of military-connected students participating in extra-curricular activities along with family outreach programs will decrease the number of students exhibiting social emotional distress year over year. Behavior referrals will be decreased year over year through the positive behavior re-enforcement structure.
