STEM Camps
Abstract
Watertown s Engineering Battalion will improve science and achievement of 4th through 9th grade student dependents of Fort Drum in northern New York. A Consultant Engineer will work with teachers and students to support adoption of engineering design and inquiry in science instruction, using maker spaces for engineering design and fabrication activities. The important link between college and career aspirations and education will be explored in Aspire Clubs via hands-on activities and college visits. Summer STEM Camps will further link students to career related STEM exploration. Quarterly Family STEM events will engage the entire community, building excitement for STEM learning.
