CORDS Connection Opportunities and Reading Development for Students
Abstract
C.O.R.D.S. – Connection Opportunities and Reading Development for Students concentrates on improving student achievement in reading and support programs to cultivate positive school culture for transitioning military connected students in secondary schools. Improving student reading achievement will occur through tutoring and increasing teacher content knowledge and use of best practice instructional strategies. Expanding JS2S and S2S will ensure that military students are successful in their transition to a new school. TAP Interactive counselors will serve the military-connected students and parents providing support in preparing for college. Madison’s secondary schools will create a positive climate through an advisory program for all military-connected students.
