Deep Learning for the 21st Century: Project Based Learning and Performance Assessment
Abstract
Poquoson Schools serve a military-rich population of students impacted by transitions. The community holds high expectations for student learning. The Peninsula Council for Workplace Development reports a need for students who are proficient in 21st century skills; furthermore, alumni indicate a need to be better prepared to work in groups, write well and handle a heavy workload. Funding for Deep Learning for the 21st Century: Project Based Learning and Performance Assessment will allow us to implement a quality model of project based learning with students as we work directly with teachers within a highly customized, job embedded, professional development model.
