The College and Career Ready: Opening Doors with Virtual Opportunities

Abstract

The College and Career Ready: Opening Doors with Virtual Opportunities project is designed to improve graduation rates and college and career readiness outcomes for military dependent students. Program goals will be met by providing opportunities for enrollment in the newly developed district virtual high school which will allow military dependent students to initiate and/or complete courses regardless of relocation. The project will provide social/emotional supports for military dependent students by expanding the Student to Student peer mentoring program to the virtually-enrolled students. The project will provide virtual and face-to-face parent awareness programs focused on virtual learning and college/career readiness strategies.
