Supporting Military Student Success Program
Abstract
The Northside Independent School District 9NISD) in San Antonio, Texas will create the Supporting Military Student Success Program to improve outcomes for over 2,000 K-12 military dependent students at nine schools. To increase social/emotional support, NISD will provide training and resources to school counselors, allowing them to implement military counseling groups, afterschool clubs, Student Ambassador programs, family events, college trips, and virtual career tours. to improve academic achievement four military dependent students in four key Advance Placement (AP) courses, NISD will provide training and resources to AP teachers, allowing them to implement an AP Bridge program and Saturday mock exams.
