Grants to Local Educational Agencies for Military-Connected Academic and Support Programs

Abstract

A strong base in mathematics is critical for preparing college-ready students with the abilities, interest, and confidence to pursue careers of their choice in a math-based job market. The proposed project focuses on improving math instruction for the approximate 3,220 military connected elementary and middle school students in the El Paso Independent School District. Also, this project will provide STEM-enhanced coursework to elementary schools to target student confidence and ability to pursue advanced high school options within the district. Implementation of this project will empower EPISD students to be engaged learners, innovators and drivers of a robust twenty-first century economy.
