Grants to Local Educational Agencies for Military-Connected Academic and Support Programs
Abstract
The San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) Operation College and Career Readiness (OCCR) Project proposes to provide a framework of support for military-connected students to (1) improve post-secondary educational enrollment outcomes, and (2) improve CCR outcomes in Math and Science. These goals will be achieved through development of an Upward Bound inspired college readiness project for upper grade high school students; delivery of Project Lead the Way instruction within grades K-5; access to STEM focused summer science camp to military students; provision of Math tutoring within middle and high schools; and development of community partnerships that can deliver college and career readiness projects that align with the needs of individual schools.
