Patriot s Pride: Improving Mathematics Learning (6-8)

Abstract

Sackets Harbor Central School PATRIOT’S PRIDE Improving Mathematics Learning (6-8) Project will improve College and Career Readiness outcomes of military-dependent students in grades 6-8 in Mathematics. Outcomes are 5% annual increases in the percentage of military-dependent students who achieve proficiency (Level 3/4) on the NYS Mathematics Assessments. Goals/outcomes were informed by a child-by-child analysis of proficiency levels/scaled scores of state assessments of military-dependent students (grades 3-8). Tutoring, small group and 1:1, will be provided addressing discrete skill gaps. Tutoring will occur before, during and after school to support student’s needs. In-class supports, such as Response to Intervention (RtI), embedded professional development and the integration of technologies will be utilized.
