Military-Connected Local Educational Agencies for Academic and Support Programs
Abstract
Sheppard Elementary will improve the College and Career Readiness outcomes of military dependent elementary students in Reading and Science through the use of in-class supports, technology integration, and student-led learning. In-class supports will be implemented through project-based learning, tutors, and substitutes. Sheppard will create a Media Center and a Makerspace to address 21st century learning and provide a 1:1 ratio of technology for every student. Student-led learning will be enhanced through creating collaborative workspaces, offering field trips to inspire college and career opportunities, and hiring contracted professionals to teach enrichment clubs.
