Military-Connected Local Educational Agencies for Academic and Support Programs (MCASP)
Abstract
The Department of Defense Education Activity, Education Partnership grant offers equitable opportunity for the students of Medical Lake School District (MLSD) to improve student achievement through rigorous and relevant curriculum that is aligned with our Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards for our military connected school system. The teacher is the direct connection to student success or failure. High performing teachers know and understand how to help ALL students have access to quality instruction and learning. 21st Century Skills needed for life success include an understanding of Science Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Careers for most of our students will be STEM related. Successful students will need to understand and adapt to the rapid changes in technology.
