Military-Connected Local Educational Agencies for Academic and Support Programs (MCASP)
Abstract
Copenhagen Central School District will enact Knights in Training by addressing the career and college readiness needs of military-dependent students via direct math interventions (RTI) and rigorous STEM activities. Student progress will be tracked using valid, reliable measures of achievement that include scales of fluency and academic skills. Strategies include: a) flooding intervention/enrichment instructional blocks with math intervention services and STEM activities for all military-dependent children using research based programs such as Accelerated Math, Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Engineering is Elementary (EIE) b) professional development in strategic Math RtI planning, PBL and EiE curriculum c) after-school STEM activities.
