Military-Connected Local Educational Agencies for Academic and Support Programs (MCASP)
Abstract
With a focus on making students responsible for their own learning, the AVID system will provide the military-dependent students at Leavenworth High School, USD 453, a framework of skills designed to strengthen their college and career readiness. Specifically, the AVID program intends to prepare and direct students to more rigorous coursework to equip them for their academic and/or vocational experiences beyond high school. The implementation of the AVID program will help teachers deploy the curriculum, instructional practices and resources that enable every student to be successful academically, especially in their reading comprehension and math computation skills.
