Science Today 4 Success Tomorrow ST 2

Abstract

O’Fallon Township High School District (OTHS) has a reputation for strong academic performance, yet military-connected students graduate from college with a four-year degree at a rate lower than the national average; only about 1 in 3 students with an interest in pursuing a science or engineering degree, subsequently complete the degree. It has been determined that OTHS laboratories and classrooms are not adequately equipped to develop the skills and content expected of a college level student. The DoDEA MCASP project, Science Today 4 Success Tomorrow? (ST) 2, will better outfit high school laboratories to mirror university laboratories, prepare students to complete college laboratory and course expectations with fidelity, and better equip military connected students to complete college science degrees. The program will be sustained through district funding and the OTHS Endowment Fund.
