Project Green
Abstract
Project Green focuses on college and career readiness through science using authentic STEM strategies to improve student performance. The strategies within this project emphasize improvement in science while using researched-based components and unique learning environments to not only raise achievement of the military student, but also renew interest in science through real world experiences using the standards in a greenhouse setting, exploring science through virtual reality, while using critical thinking classroom practices to think beyond the textbook. The intent of the project is to raise the rigor of science classes so that the academic performance measures in science improve not only on the OCCT at the 8th grade level, but also on the science portion of the ACT as well.
