STEMulate Minds is designed to strengthen and expand the STEM education opportunities for military-connected students in grades 4-6
Abstract
STEMulate Minds is designed to strengthen and expand STEM education opportunities for military-connected students in grades 4-6 by providing job-embedded professional development through curriculum and instructional support, as well as in-class technology support for science teachers in those grades. Students will be offered opportunities to explore and engage in hands-on science activities designed to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills at each of the elementary schools in the Enterprise City Schools System. It is believed that as students progress to the junior highs and high schools within our system, there will be increased growth in science interest, knowledge and skills at those levels due to the experiences in grades 4-6. The expected outcome of the program will be an annual 2% growth in STEM subjects measured each year of the grant as measured by the Alabama state mandated math and science tests in grades 4-6.
