Formulating Our Future: All SySTEMs Go

Abstract

Located entirely on Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph, the Randolph Field ISD’s “Formulating Our Futures: All SySTEMs Go” project is designed to build STEM programming within RFISD and support our students as they reach higher levels of academic achievement. Over the course of this project, RFISD will be taking a multi-pronged approach to building STEM capacity within our students in order that they are better prepared to pursue courses of study and careers that fall under the STEM umbrella. Strategies include the implementation of a formal tutoring program, offering additional STEM related extracurricular activities, providing students with learning spaces designed to support student-centered, active teaching and learning strategies, strengthening pedagogical frameworks, providing students with 21st century tools, and developing a summer enrichment program. Outcomes of the All SySTEMs Go project will result in higher student achievement as measured by state assessments and college-entrance exam data.
