Promoting Military Connected Student Enrichment in STEM

Abstract

Teachers in the Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) use the data from the Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS) mathematics and science state assessment data to guide instructional practices to improve student achievement. The GMAS is a summative assessment program in which Georgia students take in grades 3 through high school. In the spring, students test on state adopted content standards in English Language Arts (3rd through 8th grades), mathematics (3rd through 8th grades), science (5th and 8th grade only), and social studies (5th and 8th grade only).
