Inspire, Engage, Empower and Connect will increase the number of military-connected students enrolled in STEM courses by creating a K-12 STEM Pipeline and increase science student achievement

Abstract

Project Inspire, Engage, Empower and Connect will increase the number of military-connected students enrolled in STEM courses by creating a K-12 STEM Pipeline. This project will establish a STEM science curriculum (Project Lead the Way) in the elementary schools, aligning vertically with the middle school. Schools will be supported with the integration of existing science curriculum with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) while partnering with STEM professionals, researchers and field experts. The expected outcomes are to (1) increase the number of military-connected students (K-8) access to STEM activities and curricula, (2) increase student achievement of military-connected students as measured by the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) in grades 5 and 8.
