Additionally, there will be a STEM infused afterschool and summer programs at all three elementary schools and the middle school.
Abstract
Carthage Central School District is a rural, economically disadvantaged district in upstate New York that services the students of the Fort Drum Army Base. The Carthage- Engineering is Found Everywhere Grant will serve to increase the proficiency rate of students taking NYS Math Assessment Tests in the elementary and middle schools. The goal is to have more military connected students scoring proficient or above than the state average. This grant will provide in class supports in the following ways: • Math Teacher Assistant at each elementary school • STEM based math Teacher Assistant to assist with the incorporation of Makerspace and STEM projects in the classroom • Global Classroom STEM initiative for the upper level middle school students • Advanced classes in math and science at the 8th grade level
