Full STEAM Ahead

Abstract

Full STEAM Ahead’s Proposed Enrichment Project will use imagination, creativity and innovation to provide all students (identify/outreach and serve military-connected students) with opportunities, resources, and encouragement to apply their interests, knowledge, thinking skills, creative ideas, and task commitment to authentic real-life problems. SMART Goals: Goal 1: By May 2023, the percentage of military-connected students in grade 9-12 scoring proficient or above in math (measured through PCASSP for 11th graders, and by-passing grade C or better 9th, 10th and 12th graders) will increase by 10% compared to the 2018 baselines results. Strategies include but aren’t limited to: Integration Lab, experiential and engaging STEAM Family Nights, before and after school clubs and activities and field trips. To increase buy-in and increased performance in math. Goal 2: WUHSD Full STEAM Ahead will increase the percentage of military-connected students in grades 9-12 social emotional learning (SEL) supports, baseline of 16.8%, increase to 21% during the grant cycle. Strategies include identification and awareness of the benefits of mindfulness, self-care and SEL support for families, students and staff. Through in class presentations, groups, after school and family activities.
