Future Ready with Biomedical Innovation

Abstract

Middletown Public School Districts’ Future Ready with Biomedical Innovation project is designed to provide health career opportunities for military-connected high school students. The district provides a strong STEM experience for students K-12 as a Project Lead the Way district for students in elementary and middle schools to develop skills and interests in various STEM fields and careers. A gap exists at the high school. Currently there is strong interest–yet no pathway– for students to pursue health or medical-related interests at the high school level. The addition of Project Lead the Way’s Biomedical Sciences Pathway will fill that gap and provide military-connected students with a rigorous curriculum, transportable skills, and experiences to investigate health-related careers.
