Project IMPART: Implementing Mathematical Practices At Relevant Time

Abstract

Implementing Mathematical Practices At Relevant Times, is designed to support the academic achievement of students in the area of mathematics in the Waynesville R-VI School District. This research-based initiative leverages best practices in mathematics intervention, differentiated instruction, and student support to achieve academic success for military students. This will be achieved by developing a district-wide process encouraging student discussion in mathematics through tasks, questions, and evident (TQE); improving teacher efficacy through providing ongoing professional development; continuing to build faculty capacity to use student data to target student learning needs; implementing research-based mathematics interventions in the classroom to meet the education needs of students; and providing after school mathematics tutoring. Project IMPART aims to help military-connected students develop lifelong strategies for real-world application of mathematics.
