Promoting Military-Connected Student Excellence in the Health Sciences
Abstract
Randolph Field Independent School District (ISD) is a Texas public school district located entirely within the boundaries of Randolph Air Force Base on Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. RFISD is committed to preparing the future workforce and developing skills in our students to enjoy a healthy work/life balance. The district’s 2020 Military-Connected Academic and Support Programs grant will further our efforts at increasing the number of college and career ready students and overall student wellness with a focus on the health sciences. Professional development, engaging instructional programs, mental and physical health activities, extra-curricular events, and technology implementation will support grant goals. The 2020 MCASP grant will allow RFISD to increase the number of students achieving industry-based certifications upon graduation. It will also support increased academic achievement outcomes for students across the district through strategies targeting healthy living and emotional and physical wellbeing.
