Literacy Building the Foundation for a Bright Future
Abstract
Ledyard Public Schools has identified the need for a comprehensive structured approach to literacy instruction that continues to embed the Science of Reading strategies to further refine and enhance reading and writing instruction. To accomplish this goal, LPS will revise existing curricula, adjust the existing program and or adopt a new comprehensive structured literacy program for grades K to 5 add enrichment and challenge opportunities for students and expand the ELA support team at the elementary level to include additional Literacy Teacher Interventionists and Literacy Coaches Literacy Teacher Interventionists will work directly with students while Literacy Coaches will work directly with teachers to improve literacy instruction Ongoing professional.
