SPEAK Student Programs Emphasizing Accessing World Language Knowledge
Abstract
Randolph Field ISD (RFISD) is a small Texas public school district located entirely within the boundaries of Joint Base San Antonio Randolph. The district is the official school district for all students who reside on Randolph Air Force Base and additionally, approximately 68 percent of the district s student population are military dependents and retired military dependents who reside outside of RFISD s boundaries. Despite providing an outstanding education for our military connected students, as we are a small district, we do not have the resources to create meaningful language learning opportunities other than the basic requirements as outlined by the state.
