ARTS C Language and Cultural Studies in Chinese
Abstract
International Leadership of Texas grant project, ARTS C Language and Cultural Studies in Chinese 3 to12, involves in the Language and Cultural Studies in Chinese 3 to12 Program aiming to increase Chinese language proficiency among ILTexas students. The program will provide targeted professional development, create high quality curriculum and instructional materials, and the piloting of one new Advanced Chinese Language Course centered around Fine Arts Content and one new Martial Arts course integrated into our robust Physical Education program, aligning with research that shows incorporation of fine arts and physical movement into instruction have been shown to improve language acquisition. This unique approach will ensure that ILTexas students receive high quality language instruction, thus increasing knowledge of Chinese culture and vocabulary.
