Project HELP
Abstract
Project HELP Heightening English Learners Potential is designed to assist English learning students from military families. Presently, over a quarter of all children in the United States come from immigrant families, with most speaking a language other than English at home. The goal of this project is to increase student achievement and English Learner proficiency of Pre K to12th grade English as a second language students, by May 31, 2029. English language learners represent a significant subgroup of students who need special attention due to their increasing numbers and comparatively lower performance. The measure of success for teachers is their ability to improve academic outcomes for English learners. As classrooms become more diverse, it’s essential that every teacher possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to cater to the unique needs of all students, including those facing challenges with English.
