GEAR UP 2 Advance
Abstract
Great Expectations and Results Urgency Plan 2 Advance (GEAR UP 2 Advance) will be implemented in two elementary schools (to include preschool), one middle school, and one high school. The purpose of the grant is to advance students’ knowledge, skills, and character by ensuring a solid instructional pathway through research based strategies. This will be accomplished by creating advanced degree pathways for teachers with a focus on the district curriculum, data, and instruction creating advanced degree pathways for current teachers to become administrators to continue processes set by the grant growing our own teachers to ensure continuity for future generations advancing student achievement through viable curriculum and supports, engaging lessons, and hands on or real world activities and advanced coursework and recruitment supports to ensure quality hires. This grant will ensure a quality, forward focused, personalized educational program is provided to all Knob Noster and Whiteman Air Force Base students that prepares them for success in college and career. Through embedded, forward thinking, research based strategies, this grant will strengthen teacher knowledge, skills, and abilities to better prepare their students for success. It is our goal to use these innovative strategies to help reduce the teacher shortage we all are facing, draw our students to the teaching field, and retain the highly qualified teachers we already have in place.
